This study aims to analyze the implementation of credit risk management in mitigating non-performing loans at BRI Unit Sumberberas, a microfinance institution in Banyuwangi. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the Unit Head and credit officers, and documentation studies of credit reports for the period January to August 2021. The analysis refers to the four pillars of credit risk management: active supervision, policies and procedures, risk identification and measurement, and risk control. The results showed that BRI Unit Sumberberas has implemented credit risk management in accordance with Bank Indonesia regulations and the Company Manual. However, several obstacles were found including concurrent positions where marketing staff also serve as credit supervisors, inconsistent monitoring of debtors, and incomplete administrative documents that complicate insurance claims. The Non-Performing Loan ratio during the study period was still below the 5% tolerance limit set by Bank Indonesia. This research recommends the establishment of a special supervision division, separation of functions in credit administration, and consistency in implementing call reports to minimize credit risk in the future
